York IECC - remaining Work Stations 16/12/2015 at 22:57 #78797

With the release of Leeds East and Leeds West - as Leeds City - and the relatively recent release of LTS (i.e. original Upminster IECC control area) & Marylebone - I am hoping/assuming we will see the rest of the current York IECC in due course.

It will be interesting to see how this is released, if it ever is, as there is no logical link between Leeds Ardsley and Leeds North West work stations.

Will they be released simultaneously with a multi buy option or completely independently?

Will York South and York North come out as one simulation in a similar way as to Leeds City?

Will there be any incentive to buy all of York IECC?

So while I get the logic of Leeds East and West being paired as I'd imagine the interface would be too prescriptive otherwise give the flexibility of routes, I'd imagine the community might like some idea of the release strategy so those with less available funds can plan/prioritise their purchases.

While this release is a very pleasant surprise, as I used to live in Pudsey and travel through Leeds frequently, it wasn't trailered in the earlier chain around new simulations intended to help the community plan their purchases - for example Slough, Walsall and Reading still awaited (yes - I do know they will be ready when they are ready!).

I can answer for Slough/Reading - shortly after (perhaps partly as a result of) it was announced they'd be released "soon", additional and significantly more detailed research material came into my possession. It's taking a long time to go through, implement and thoroughly test this - although I can say progress is being made behind the scenes, with a real railway to run and Christmas family commitments they're now likely a 2016 release. I cannot speak for Walsall.

Thanks for your update on Slough & Reading. The more accurate the better - so it's good to note additional source material is available.

Walsall update - Non SimSig-related issues have meant time for development has been very limited but work is being done. There isn't much more to do so it shouldn't be too much longer. (Famous last words....LOL)

I will look forward to Walsall, Slough & Reading. I also hope that Paddington will come at some point but, as they say, IRWIR.
