Those of us who are old enough will remember the Blue Pullman DMUs that ran between Manchester and St. Pancras between 1960 and 1967. I have just been in e-mail correspondence with a friend who has a passing interest in railways rather than being an enthusiast. He has been reading a book where the author recounts a trip from Manchester on the Blue Pullman but which arrived into Kings Cross rather than St. Pancras.

Is that something that could have happened (and if so, what route might have been taken) or has the author just got the two adjacent doors on Euston Road confused?
