On the simulation supplied timetable 1E94 Liverpool Lime Street to York heads out of Leeds at 00:36h towards Methley Junction/Castleford. Is this correct. Surely it should be routed via Marsh Lane Junction and then onto York via Church Fenton and Colton Junction. Geoff Log in to reply |

As with most weird moves at that time of night, it runs that way for route knowledge purposes. TPE drivers sign Leeds- Methley Jn- Castleford- Milford Jn- Church Fenton as a diversion in the event of the direct route being shut.

Presumably to keep route knowledge up to date. I was able to point out to the guard (remember them?) that he wouldn't need to reverse all the reservation cards at Leeds (it was back in the days of "facing" and "reverse"since they'd all come out right at Bradford.
