On the simulation supplied timetable 1E94 Liverpool Lime Street to York heads out of Leeds at 00:36h towards Methley Junction/Castleford. Is this correct. Surely it should be routed via Marsh Lane Junction and then onto York via Church Fenton and Colton Junction.

As with most weird moves at that time of night, it runs that way for route knowledge purposes. TPE drivers sign Leeds- Methley Jn- Castleford- Milford Jn- Church Fenton as a diversion in the event of the direct route being shut.

Can't speak for the supplied TT, but the current WTT shows 1E96 2230 Lime St. - York leaving Leeds at 00:34 to go forward to Methley/Castleford after reversing at Leeds. Presumably to keep route knowledge up to date.

I've at least once ridden York to Leeds (and then Manchester, I think) that way. I was able to point out to the guard (remember them?) that he wouldn't need to reverse all the reservation cards at Leeds (it was back in the days of "facing" and "reverse"since they'd all come out right at Bradford.
