Just for a bit of non-train fun, I've come up with a little game called Guess The Car. The rules are: 1: You have to post a picture of a car. 2: Do not make it too obvious (e.g. hide the badges and names on the car and don't have a picture from an obvious angle). 3: Do not include the car's name in the URL. That's it really. If you want to add another rule please send me a PM. I'll start off: Click here Last edited: 05/03/2016 at 19:04 by GeoffM Reason: Turned image into URL Log in to reply |

I would like to suggest that you use another picture, preferably one taken by yourself. As the one above is clearly from a television programme, and it could be argued that it breaches forum rules re copyright material. That aside I do not see what this has to do with SimSig, signalling or pardon the pun any other aspect of railway operation. Last edited: 05/03/2016 at 17:06 by Oddjob Log in to reply |

I guess that is why it is in the forum area "Open Mic (non-railway)". There are plenty of forum communities who have been set up to cater for particular interests, and most of them have a place for "Other" discussions. This forum area is exactly the place for such threads. Log in to reply |

It seems to be a bit of a grey area if you take a single screenshot where one judge could agree that it's fair use as it's posted for comment/discussion, whereas another judge might find the entire works (TV programme) is copyright. If you took somebody else's screenshot and reposted it as your own without permission then I would have to remove it, and (as in the OP) leeching off another site is not appropriate. However, credit should be given to the origins of the picture, such as the BBC or wherever this came from. SimSig Boss Last edited: 05/03/2016 at 19:05 by GeoffM Log in to reply |
