Hi all Congratulations on releasing York. I have had two occasions now in the first 3 hours of play where a level crossing has called up, and I have asked them to 'call back after the next train'. I have confirmed by the Messages window that I did not mis-click. After the next train passes over the crossing, they are not calling back. Instead, a call comes in later on where they are 'still waiting to cross'. This has occurred at Scalm Lane and also LC 89. Loader version 4.5.11. In the case of Scalm Lane, they aren't waiting 5 minutes either. I asked them to call back after the next train at 0232 hrs, the train passed around 0235, and they called back at 0242. Any ideas? I've had the same issue with LC89, Copmanthorpe and Earfit crossings so sounds like its something sim wide. On when I said to call back after next train, they waited for 10 minutes after giving them the response to call back, despite trains passing between telling them and them calling back.

Same with LC82. I would raise this on Mantis but there doesn't appear to be a York section yet. Kev Log in to reply |

This is not a criticism in the slightest (or if it is, it's meant positively and constructively). I have been waiting for the York sim since I first found SimSig and do not regret my purchase in any way. However, does anyone find that the level crossings seem absurdly busy? I've got to 0630 and already i've had about 5 people wanting to cross Copmanthorpe, around another 4 or 5 wanting to cross at the numbered crossings north of York, and some more on top of that!! Is this prototypical? I understand York is as flat as a pancake but I had the impression that usage on these crossings was the exception, and not the norm. If that makes sense. That being said, a very big well done to the developers. It's a brilliant sim. (Is it ironic my status under my username says Crossing Keeper? Perhaps i've been demoted and no one has told me) Last edited: 15/05/2016 at 22:46 by 2W34 Log in to reply |

Crossing were programmed to call about 4x a day. Will check the figures and the other issues raised here though.

To add to the debate:- Just had "Abnormal load waiting cross at Copmanthorpe MWL" or something similar. The only crossing I could find is Copmanthorpe No.2 MWL so, assuming that was the one, replied "Call back after next train". Next train went over - nothing. Just now received a call "Confused driver still waiting at Copmanthorpe MWL". Different reason?? Not fat ..... fluffy!! (G Iglesias) Log in to reply |
