Not sure if it's even a bug (and it may have been mentioned) but on the post 2012 layout, Y201's auto button applies for moves into the Holgate HLG line (Y211) and not main line moves to Y205

Not sure if this is a bug but I turned the ARS LColton sub-area off as I had a user using the Earfit Lane MWL but yet ARS still routed a train across the junction and crossing from signal 767 to 773.

I thnk I have just picked up an unreported bug. I have noticed that, if you try and interpose a train code on the Down Main platform at Northallerton then the code does not appear even if you enter one, which you can do. This occurs on both simulation eras.In reality there are two berths, 0467 and 0476. The IECC/SimSig display shows whichever is occupied (preferring 0467 if both occupied). Multi-playing game, 1P04 to Malton sitting at signal 217 (York P5) misrouted straight ahead. Player on South decided not to wait for the call and threw the road back. ACOA phone call sent to North player, not the south player.

Going back to the youtube videos of York station, I notice that there is a wide empty space between platforms 3 and 5 and I was wondering if there was once additional roads, which fitted between these platform roads before the layout was rationalised.

Many thanks Geoff et al. for releasing another classic 'childhood' area. I know there will be many hours of enjoyment spent on it. A couple of things I would say which is almost a simulation request - I can't contribute any data etc but would there be the potential to simulate the mechanical boxes on the line to Scarborough? It would be fantastic to see this and could form part of a larger 'NE Yorkshire' sim down to Hull and back to Selby. With regard to chaining etc I noticed that the sim boundary here is Malton and not somewhere intermediate (i.e. Strensall). There are other locations between Malton and York (Haxby, Kirkham Abbey, etc) and I wondered why these weren't simulated if Malton was the exit point. Given there's nearly 40 crossings between Malton station and Scarborough Branch Jn there's a lot going on. Malton box itself has 25 crossings, all to the east of the station. Something I've noticed is Springhall AHB's protecting signals have slots for Low Gates to release. Why is this the case for an AHB? I can only think it allows low gates to hold them at red if the crossing is faulty/blocked/other but I would have thought the slot would be left off 99% of the time with the signal clearing straight away, whereas it currently functions like an MCB. Also theres no apparent slotting arrangement for setting a route onto th LOS at Low gates. Does this reflect reality? "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply |

Springwell Lane telephones go to Low Gates which is presumably why it's slotted. As for the LOS, I haven't found a signaller who has ever used it and can thus explain the procedure. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

Not sure if this is a bug but when you set a route into the one of the platforms at York without using the warner route then the overlap sets correctly but then once the train has passed the signal if you set the route again using the warner route the overlap then drops to the warner over lap despite it not previously dropping out which means you could in a sense cheat the overlap out. I've noticed this will signal 300 to 222 and 213 to 223 but I think other signals may do it as well.

This occurs for every example I tried on York - and also examples I tried on other sims! For example, 329-331 on Wembley Mainline (Down Slow at Kensal Green) behaves the same. It therefore looks like this is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a core code issue.
