I'm trying to access my License Manager, returns this error message - "10054: Connection reset by peer".

What can I do, I'm trying to buy a licence for York?

Did a quick search for "10054: Connection reset by peer" and there's quite a bit out there that may or may not assist, can't say that I understood it all.

Amongst other things, 10054 can happen due to a timeout. Is your internet connection okay, not overloaded with Netflix, torrents, etc? I've asked a few people to check their own connections using License Manager and they're all okay so I don't think it's a server issue.

Geoff - I'm not using anything like Netflix, torrents. My television is plain vanilla, nothing complicated.

Peter - Thanks for suggesting implicitly, that I should have done a quick Google-search for "10054: Connection reset by peer". Rather like you, I didn't see anything that I could understand, or that seemed to point to anything that might apply on my system.

I thought that it might be an idea to look in Event Viewer; this appears to result from my latest attempt to log on to my Licence Manager.

Thank you both. Have you any idea from the above what might be the cause of my problem?

That log is from a .NET program; LicenseManager is written in Delphi. What antivirus software are you using?

Anti-virus software is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium, plus Microsoft Security Essentials.

I'm running the freeware Malwarebytes (so no real-time protection) and MSE. The loader is working without any problems. Can you disable the MBAM and see if things work OK then?

Postal - many thanks.

I'm afraid that did not sort this either.

What operating system are you running?

Suggest you reboot your computer, then have Malwarebytes updated and scan the computer.

Barry M - Windows 10

Malwarebytes is the Home Premuim version, on a 4-hour update check, and daily scan. I have lost track of the number of re-starts that I have taken.

Oh! - how embarrassing!

SimSig License Manager had crept on to the "Blocked" list of programs in a privacy app. Thought that I'd checked it, but clearly, I had not.

Thanks to all who contributed advice; sorry that you wasted your time.
