6H89 and 4D74 both run-round at Gascoigne Wood bunker lines. However, they're quite long so the back end isn't within the simulation location. This means that when the run round loco gets to the other end, it won't join, stating "Train xxxx in front", even though the main train is waiting for the loco to join. Is there any way around this, short of sending the locos back to the other end of their trains? They've used the DEF: activity, so I can't shunt the main trains. I've attached a save.

Sim 1.2, Loader 4.5.11

As some of those who attended the Derby meet last Saturday will know I'm in the process of writing a 1991-1992 timetable for York & although I've not ran the timetabl;e yet I have timetabled several trains into & out of Gascoigne WEood/Selby New Mine & the analyser states '0' issues on all trains in the timetable data. I've tended to copy what the timetable supplied by the sim has done. The only difference between your train & my train would be the length of the train. The train shown is 6R46 00:20 EWD MGR Eggborough Power Station- Gascoigne Wood (FEDN TO Cl.56+36 empty MGR hoppers).

Entry Location: Down Milford (Milford Junction)
Gascogine Wood Jn pass. 00/44 DML
GW West End pass. 00/46 (plat: 3)
GW Bunker arr. 00.48 (plat. 4) DEF: 0R46 J. 0R46 N. 7C05

0R46 6R46 loco run round (FEDN TO Cl.56)
GW Bunker (plat. 4) dep. 00:50
Hagg Lane arr. 00:00 dep. 00:00 stopping position. Near End Exact
GW Bunker (plat. 5) pass. 00/00
GW West End arr. 00:00 dep. 00:00 stopping position. Near End Exact
GW Bunker (plat. 4) arr. 00:00 J. 0R46

7C05 01:50 EWD MGR Selby New Mine - Eggborough Power Station (FEDN TO Cl.56+36 loaded MGR wagons)
GW Bunker. arr. --:-- dep. --:-- (plat. 4)
GW West End (plat. 4) dep. 01:45
Gascoigne Wood Jn. pass. 01/48
Milford Junction. pass. 01/50

Now I'm not suggesting this may resolve your issue as the train type you are timetabling could be longer than 344m. The only other thi9ng you could try in the mean time is to reduce the train consist by 1 wagon at a time until the train joins up correctly & then when the issue has been resolved the re-form the train with the correct length you are trying to timetable it atm. As yet I haven't timetabled a train into Gascoigne Wood/Selby New Mine with a rake of 45 MGR wagons. But when I do I may well have the same problem as you. But time will tell.

I know it's a simple thing but have you made sure the train's arrival position is Far End Exact? Ensures you have the maximum length inside the points.

Could well be you need NEAR end exact @20m, so the rear of the train stops leaving space for the loco to rejoin. Even if the space is not sufficient for all the loco, at least it will 'arrive' at the location and join, with a minor shunt once attached and power restored.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.
