Hi, I'm a newbie to the world of SimSig, but not new to the world of Railway Signalling. I've been a signalling engineer for over 25 years so far, working almost exclusively on UK interlocking alterations. As a result I know my way around the various signalboxes and interfaces working (and abolished) in the UK, but I'm not that familiar with overseas systems. I found this simulation group through a search about Edge Hill interlocking, which I'll be working on shortly as part of the Lime St project. Hi and welcome. What type of interlockings do you work with - freewired, Westpac, GEC geographical, SSI, E10k etc?

So far, since 1989, I've worked on BRS-SW67, E10k, SSI, Westpac Mk1/Mk3/Mk3a, AEG/SGE/GEC geographicals (the likes of Saltley & Bletchley), Smartlock & Westlock, as well as a whole range of mechanical and electromechanical boxes. I've also fringed to VHLCs (including some minor alterations), and to other more unusual interlockings like Ansaldo-STS, SIMIS & Tiefenbach. There's been the odd little fringe to LUL and Channel Tunnel over the years as well. I'm now starting to work with WestRACE to add even more to my arsenal. I've not had much to do with RETB or ERTMS yet though .... that'll probably come soon enough. I'm a little less 'at the coal face' now, as I'm normally Signaling CRE and/or CEM on current projects, but I still get heavily involved in verifying designs to the signalling principles or approving the designs, as well as looking after the integration between the different disciplines. So, to put it in a nutshell, I've got a fair bit of experience :-) But the first thing I was taught when I joined BR was that you'll never stop learning & that has stayed as true as ever.....
