Been playing and enjoying this sim very much since I worked in Derby PSB in the 80s and 90s. It is a most excellent simulation which is best played, in my opinion over two large screens with both halves of the panel shown. I have played the whole 24 hours and I'd like to make a number of constructive comments (not criticism by any means) :- 1) Trains from the west to Burton West Yard. The normal method of entry is to run GL from Leicester Jcn and run up towards Clay Mills and stand so as the rear of the train is in advance of GPS 172, which is then cleared for the movement to Burton West Yard. I have tried to do that with 4M69 and 6D37 and nothing happens. The trains actually call up from 181 signal expecting that to be cleared. The only way to remove the train is to route it via 181 to an arbitrary destination. I routed mine over the Chellaston Branch and they disappeared. I haven't tried it with 4B21 as it didn't run. 2) 4Q71 2141 Derby RTC - Crewe. Runs out of the RTC Serco exit to P6 and then should reverse to run via Stenson. Nothing happens when 446 signal is cleared towards Stenson and the train actually calls up from 456 and expects that to be cleared at the north end. The only way to remove the train was to route is to an arbitrary destination. I sent it to Chaddesden sidings and lost it there! 3) Derby North Junction When it is required to run round a train on the goods line (like 5X78 and 5X77) the train need to be shown to run to the furthest end of the GL otherwise the loco stands foul of GPS 448 signal after re-attachment. Additionally the engine is detached at the north end of the goods line and is signalled forwards onto the DGL where is should run to stand clear of GPS 473 signal. What actually happens is that the loco runs forward and stands clear of the points required for the RR but not clear of GPS 473, so an unsignalled move has to be made by locking the points reverse. I believe they should be shown to run to "GPS 473 rev" Similarly with 5L86, which is shown to run to St Mary's North when is need to be shown to "GPS 473 rev" I'm in the process of updating my timetables to reflect the issues above. Should I find any more, then I publish them here. Many thanks though, for an excellent sim which I can assure you it is most lifelike and a real challenge even for one who knows the box well. A couple of additional things I've found 6M49 has multiple three entries which all appear one after the other at Clay Cross - I have deleted two of them in my own timetable. 6M51 has three entries too which all appear one after the other and I have deleted two of them from my own timetable. In response to the trains 6M49 and 6M51, they are all correct in being in the timetable, and they do not run or enter at the same time, TT rules should prevent this, even tho they appear the same SimSig uses unique ID for each trains and those trains you mentioned all have different UID's, I took a look at the trains you mentioned in your second post , and they all have differnt start points/times (this is Train origin location not on sim but taken from real world,) as the trains may run from different location or take a different route on any give day, but still use the same TD. Added Info Just had a look at the rules and the rules to prevent more than one of the 6M49 and 6M51 (and others) appear to be missing . Also note that in all cases where you run into that kind of timetable errors and it's already too late for amending the timetable, you can manually reverse the train by using the context menu in the F2 train list. Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick. Having spent a lot of time in Derby PSB I can assure you its an excellent sim. Very lifelike and just as challenging as a shift in the old box with three panels would have been. Its hard work to do what, in days gone by, three signallers would be doing. The hardest thing is keeping your eyes on Spondon and Clay Mills barriers. I got a score of 89% first time round but I should have done better having known the box so well and my main delays were at the barriers. I hope you don't think I was nitpicking by pointing out the a few issues. I really do appreciate the amount of work that goes into a sim of this sort. A little bit of help please - all points in the Drakelow Area are locked normal. How do I remove the locking so as they can be operated by the route setting? Also, I can't seem to set a route from DY136 at Birmingham Curve Jcn towards DY102 on Branston Curve. That route was regularly used at one time for coal traffic from the Coalville area to the west so I'm pretty sure there should be a route there. The only thing I can't remember is whether that route requires the approach track circuit to DY136 to be occupied. Any help please? This may or may not be the answer to your second question as well, I don't have the simulation in front of me to check. Thank you - that is indeed true regarding the points in the Drakelow area. However I'm certain the lack of a route from DY136 to DY102 is an error. A route exists from halfway round the curve, i.e. from DY102 to DY94 on the main line, similarly a route exists from the main line DY95 right around the curve via DY137 to DY133 at Drakelow West so not to have a route from DY136 to DY102 is illogical. There were, even in the 2006 era, a few Cliffe Hill - Bescot trains conveying engineers ballast which ran this way. Also I can't find any routes from GPS DY97 at Branston Jcn (which has a comment "97 slot off" - for the life of me I can't remember the reason for that but I could find out) I'm reasonably sure (but not 100%) that DY97 also read off the down main around the curve towards DY137. The routing issues appear to be the same in any era so there must be an error here. As for DY97 slot it is for use with the ground frame coming of the DN into for lack of a better term yard, to set the route to the yard you need to release the slot from the GF then set the route from DY97 to the Traingle as show in attached picture, an the route should set.
