I have done some research and some areas of Feltham ASC have now changed. I was wondering if these changes could be added as a 2016 era for the sim?

Parts of the are that have now since been removed from the ground and from the panel:


  • Shepperton Down Siding & F620 points

  • Richmond Platform 3


  • Twickenham Platform 1


  • Kempton Park Points (C&P)


  • Windsor Ground Frame


  • Shell Mex terminal (No F708 points or F476 signal)


  • Chertsey GF


  • Camberley GF


  • Ascot Down Sidings



  • Some new features such as:

    [ul]
  • F415R at Fulwell (GPL Repeater)

  • F299/F300 Emergency Replacement (reusing the ground frame release to replace these signals)

  • F341/F342 Emergency Replacement (reusing the ground frame release to replace these signals)



Future Changes happening this year


  • Closure of Feltham West Level crossing (http://www.hounslow.gov.uk/feltham_town_consult_leaflet.pdf)

  • Extended Feltham Grid siding for associated Resignalling work to Basingstoke ROC



Missing from the original sim


  • Missing C&P crossover London side of Bracknell

Operationally, do these changes either allow us to do something now that we couldn't do earlier, or prevent us from doing something now that the current timetable in effect should determine that we should be able to do?

I ask this as I think it is a matter of priorities for the developers. How important are these changes verse some other competing items that also require their limited attention?

By comparison, although an amendment to Portsmouth to reflect current operations would be very welcome here, the current sim release does not prevent me from doing something with the 2016 timetable (on the day issues aside) that the new track layout offers...

Just a point to consider...

Tbh I agree a 2016 update would be extremely helpful for Feltham as platform lengths have changed and with platform 4-6 at Reading now used by Swt any new timetable 2016 onwards comes into conflict in that area. Not urgent priority but definitely would be extremely helpful.

The platform at Chertsey was, last time I checked, incorrectly set to be long enough for a 10 car train. However this is now the case in real life so all is well. Egham however has been extended by ~50m, so a 10/458 now fits within the platform.

Yeah so is Virginia Water P1,3,4. Sunningdale, Ascot will be as from Monday, Martins Heron and Bracknell are now 10 car platforms too.

Platform 2 not 3. 3 remains a 6-car

Appreciate Reading 4A/4B need extending/renumbering; but do the other platform lengthenings actually have an effect on the operation of the sim? From what I recall of the enabling works for 10 car Windsors there were very very few alterations to the signalling, and from what I've seen so far very little changes to the signalling between Staines and Reading either.

Ascot has been remodelled and resignalled also. More track work near Reading has been altered. But they don't really affect the operation of the sim whereas Reading does.

Staines required F254 moving about 50m towards London, Egham required F262 moving about 50m towards London and Chertsey required F300 moving about 150m towards London. No doubt there will have been a few changes down towards Ascot way etc.
