I just had a train (1P10) call in that it would be delayed because the driver needed a toilet break.
Only problem: the train isn't held at a station, but in the middle of nowhere at Longlangs Jn! Is the driver really getting out and taking a whizz in the field? :D

He's probably just walking back into the train and using the toilet on board!

If he can find one that is not locked out and still fit to use! On my last TPE trip to Liverpool we had a standing load from Newcastle and one working toilet (which was distinctly unsavoury by the time we got to York).

I have heard one tale from Gloucester PSB, where it was noticed that a train was coming to a stand on plain line despite clear signals - cue signalmen muttering oaths under their breath, expecting some sort of train failure or emergency. After a few minutes, the driver came on the SPT, stating "Sorry bobby, but when you gotta go, you gotta go"!

Just going through the motions.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

I remember someone telling me a tale about someone unbuttoning and taking a pee out the cab door while running down the slow lines only to be overtaken by an express and frantically putting it away

I took one in First Class from Manchester Picc to Leeds the other day. Seats broken, power socket inoperable, missing tray table, and the tea served by the attendant hadn't been boiled. Glad I didn't specifically pay for that particular journey.

The 350s on the West Coast tend to be better I think than the 185s elsewhere!
