I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Passed me mid-afternoon travelling north on ECML between Sandy and Everton LC. Great view from footbridge over line. I just happened to be out for a cycle ride and in the right place at the right time!

If you do want information and timings for Tornado's light engine and special train movements (as well as a lot of other steam loco movements), there is a very useful site at http://www.uksteam.info/index.htm . For example it gives timings from Hither Green to York for the LE move which Right Away saw today as well as it's next move on Wednesday of this week from York to Shildon with 4468 Mallard in tow.

Yet another chance for the idiots with cameras who think it their god given right to tresspass to get that all important photo....they do realise that it will eventually lead to this being a thing of the past but do they care....no. I saw one idiot at New Southgate on the Platform last year who had two cameras mounted onto a steel back plate perched on top of a pair of step ladders about a foot inside the yellow line.....to boldly go.
Enjoy while you can.....and lets hope they do not spoil it for the likes of you and me.

No doubt a metal ladder as well and all within nice striking range of the 25kV overhead!

Again I unfortunatly believe that the ignorant few, who we have all seen on occasions, will unfortunatly destroy steam on the main line for the masses, who partake in their hobby perfectally legally. It is a shame but this has always been the case for many diffrent things.

You got it in one postal.......seemed to think it would not happen to him. Don't get me wrong I was down there also taking a keen interest and I have used the UK steam info page many times to see what is coming through but other motive power coming through New southgate is doing so with a bit of speed....heaven forbid I am one of the unlucky ones who witness any mishap that these fools encounter.....on a brighter note I think we need to thank those associated with Tornado..a tremondous feat of engineering and extreme patience.....that all of us can now savour......sorry to all you modern guys out there but long live steam.
