THIS IS NOT AIMED AT PEOPLE WHO ARE FINANCIALLY UNSTABLE. This is aimed at those who have no issue with money, yet would rather moan about payware sims and only use the freebies... This is just an observation, and do correct me if I am wrong.... ...but I'm seeing a trend in the SS world of people not purchasing many sims, instead opting to use the free sims....& have heard the odd rumbles from people complaining that sims are given a price. What is wrong with people these days? Nothing is free.....& given the amount of time, effort and research put in to create some of the payware sims, they're bloody worth the money being put out! The non-payware brigade (those who seem dead-set AGAINST buying sims) should stop being so tight-fisted and actually spend a little... Always makes me laugh when running the SB&S Facebook website to see signalman/signallers commenting "I'm not paying for that, why would I waste my hard-earned money on it?" Why would you waste your hard-earned money on a coffee? Pack of cigarettes? General crap that you can get for value/better at the supermarket? While I do buy a couple of sims I think the prices are quite alright given all the time and effort that has going into getting a sim out 2-3 years maybe a little more. I own around 8 payware sims that I bought when I had a little spare cash. I have a little list of what I would like to buy next and will hopefully be making a couple of purchases in the near future. I'm only on a monthly (4 weekly) wage and out of it comes bills/food/essentials-(clothing if needed) ect. I fully support the developers with the payware sims. I do like the occasional freeware sim like Carlisle which I've made 3-4 timetables for which then will be changed upon the release of the loader version.

I too have purchased sims but cannot afford them at the moment unless i save for nearly a year this is due to me being on benefits while long term sick ( to have to cope with household bills etc). There are many sims i would like. I am sure there are many of us who simply can't afford the sims they would like either due to not working/sick etc.

Personally I am not in a situation to spend £30/40 on sims yet, although the wishlist is growing! I do think though that releasing the occasional free sim should happen to keep those who are unable/willing to purchase sims happy and supplied with fresh content. However, at the same time Sim developers have to give up their free time to work on these so surely they should get some form of reward for their effort? Both will be free when released; the first because I promised Maxand and the second for reasons that will become clear when it eventually comes out. So it seems the only argument in this thread is "I buy X, and the rest of you who don't are wrong for doing so, how dare you"? Well, I feel an opposing argument should be made, to defend the honour of packs of cigarettes! Whilst the software is regularly updated to fix issues, and they they have obviously made no hint of simply closing down Simsig License HQ, your ability to use the game is not necessarily forever...) Must admit there are a few good reasons why I have started to not buy everything that comes out. 1. Some of the simulations are just too big for me to handle by myself without having ARS to help me or without slowing the simulation down to such an extent that I quickly loose interest because of not getting anywhere fast. 2. If you look at the Wiki for some of the simulations they do say that the particular sim is better played with two, three or more players and is better suited to multi player/chaining etc. Multi playing is something that I have only done a couple of times and am not really into. Perhaps I should give it more of a go. 3. Some of the simulations are not in an area that I am very familiar with so don't bother with them. 4. Having bought numerous simulations in the past I now realise that some of them never see the light of day and must admit for that reason we're probably a waste of money. 5. When a new simulation comes out I prefer to wait a while to let any inherent bugs be sorted out rather than jumping in straight away. I am not saying that the simulations contain a lot of bugs here so please don't think I am. I do appreciate there is a lot of time and effort put into bringing out new simulations but there are numerous reasons as to why some people don't buy even when they do have the means to do so.
