Discovered an interesting bug in NLL v2.102 today. Don't remember if this had been mentioned before, but, if not, here are the details.

  1. Collar some signals in the Richmond Auto working area, leaving the auto switched on. I had occasion to do this myself this afternoon after a track failure had locked the up junction points at Gunnersbury for the NR line.

  2. Wait till some trains get held up at some or all of the collared signals, eg TRTSs in Richmond platforms, or trains at/approaching other collared signals.

  3. Now just click on the ROV button at the bottom left. Before you can say "Jack Robinson", and without giving you a chance even to click the signal you wanted to manually set a route from, the auto immediately sets routes from all of the collared signals that it can!

Just thought I'd better mention this in case (a) it's not been discovered previously, and (b) it may still be in the new version that's under development.

Thanks, not sure how old 2.102 is but that is something that has recently come to light in another sim under development.

2.102 is the last fully released version of NLL. Beginning to show its age a bit by comparison to the latest sims (it has 'Hide entered trains' on the timetable window, but pre-dates full level crossing simulation.)

Adrian, Peter's description of "old" may not refer to the public version, but to any versions that the group of developers and testers might have received. I expect that NLL has been under developement for a long while, but of course the SimSig team will wait for a fully updated and tested version before anything is publically released.

I am guessing, of course, but that is what I would expect.
