Not sure if its been reported but the ARS for platform 3 at Springburn seems to be inoperative. I'm guessing someone knows.

Works fine for me. Have you got the ACI turned on (or are you entering the new TDs manually) because the ARS works off the displayed headcode?

It's not true ARS so the TD is not important here- it's a very simple and crude system.

Is it trains going into P3 or leaving?

Trains arriving have their timetable analysed and the route to P3 or p4 is set according to what is read. When a TRTS is tripped that sets the route back out- I know there is an issue with TRTS but I can't remember if Springburn was affected or not- I assume from what John says that it must be OK.

Its the trains from Milngavie that are not working with the ARS. I know the area well and I know its ARS for platforms 3 & 4 and Manual for Platform 1 & 2. Info from a local about Springburn. All platform starting signals are the standard 3 aspect. Platform 1 has a position 3 route indicator for the Cowlairs Chord , Platform 2 Has a position 3 route indicator for trains to Cumbernauld. Platform 1 also has a signal at the opposite end along with platform 2 for bi directional working. Platform 3 currently is for local electrics (I think signalled from the platform Starter at Barnhill signal CC324 , I could be wrong). Platform 4 is basically out of use but I've known that platform to stable DMU's in , obviously with the signalled move from platform 2 at barnhill (reversing). Hope this information is of use.

Thank you for the information; however as to the problem you have not answered the question- is it incoming or outgoing trains that you have the problem with? I read the original note as outgoing but the newer as it being the incoming- also I assume you are using one of the released timetables.

Can you clarify exactly what the circumstances of the problem is.

Both Directions. I basically have to manually set the route in advance on the train entering at Bellgrove Junction and setting the route back after the train from Milngavie has arrived.

Are BOTH the ACI and ARS buttons enabled?
I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Both buttons are on , yes. Changes the headcodes of the trains from Milngavie but doesn't set the route for them in either direction.

Guys

When I last played Central Scotland, the Springburn ARS worked for arrivals but not for departures. I'm 99.99% sure the latter is because the TRTS problem does affect Springburn. Well, I certainly never had the TRTS go off there when I was playing, and that was not always because I'd remembered to pull off in good time for the departures!

Just confirmed Springburn TRTS is on the known issues on WIKI. So that's half the conundrum resolved!

TRTS wasn't an issue. It was the arrivals and departures that are causing problems. When I find how to locate the .SSG files in vista , I'll be happy to forward them to you Peter.

TRTS is an issue because that drives the auto-working for departures: code says if TRTS Sig[P3] then call route from Sig[P3]-similar for P4

Just do a search for .ssg and you should pick it up that way.

I'll look that up for the .ssg files. Its the case of finding them. Simsig knows where to look but I'm still looking into it. I shall forward the file with details of the era soon. Sorry for the delay (pardon the pun in a signalling simulator!)
