Two bugs - or, perhaps, one bug and one misfeature. My initial problem was that 2Y05 had been moving at 40 mph from North Berwick for at least 15 mins, and hadn't reached Drem. (A saved game is available with it in this state). I tried reversing it, and it duly reached the buffers (or, at least, "Run out of valid track"at North Berwick, but, on reversing it again, it didn't make any more progress - it stayed at 40 mph on F2 without actually getting anywhere. Things were getting backed up on the main line, so I removed it (F2 > Extreme measures > Remove train). However, this didn't clear the OCC indication at North Berwick, so I'm now unable to send any 2Yxx's there - if I continue with this run, I'm going to have to try and reverse them at Drem via the ground signals. (a) Has the issue with trains getting stuck at North Berwick (or other locations) been seen by anyone else? (b) Is there any way to clear an OCC indication? Log in to reply |

Am not aware of any problems with the branch. I should have kept a debug version of the release then I could have looked at your save, unfortunately it's unlikley to work on a current build. If you tell the next train to pass sig at R I'd expect it to clear on return. Or write a TT for an engineering train from the siding to NB and back. Looking at the timetable for 2Y05-1 the difference between the time it leaves North Berwick and the time it arrives at Drem is 15 minutes anyway. The fact that you say after you reversed the train back towards North Berwick it eventually showed "Ran out of valid track" suggests to me there is some kind of timetable error somewhere - Can I ask: Did the timetable step-up correctly and show the next location as Drem?

Peter Bennet said:If you tell the next train to pass sig at R I'd expect it to clear on return. That worked, thanks. Had to key the points manually, of course, but 2Y06 went in and out without problems. I gave it a quick burst of F3 and it still hadn't emerged 30 mins after I noticed the problem. Tested this overnight and couldn't see / replicate any problem(s) - 2Y05-1 left North Berwick on-time and arrived at Drem on-time too. If it took longer than 15 minutes doing North Berwick -> Drem then I would assume it was late into and back out of North Berwick station therefore it will arrive at Drem at a later time too. When 2Y05-1 is ready to come off the North Berwick line it will appear at Signal EF537 (and Track Circuit TNBB will be lit) then it can obviously be signalling onwards from there. I note whilst testing if I reversed a train (or double-reversed, as I did) manually whilst it was on the North Berwick line then the OCC light stayed lit after it came off the line however as Peter Bennet says if you PSAD the next train then OCC will clear once that next train comes back off the branch (very much like the bug on Exeter with the warners at Topsham). I also noticed that my Light Locomotive test train went at 50mph on most of the line before reducing to 15mph and then eventually arriving at North Berwick whilst 2Y05 travelled at only 40mph over almost all of the line. Quote:I note whilst testing if I reversed a train (or double-reversed, as I did) manually whilst it was on the North Berwick line then the OCC light stayed lit after it came off the lineDon't understand that as the OCC set is occupation of TNBB with the subroute set along TNBB in the up directon and the clear is Occupation of TNBC with the signal sub-route set along it in the down direction. So reversing it should not affact anything- unless you passed 537 with no route set. The core code says if a train passes a signal at Y then it will be limited to 40mph max till it comes to a G when it will revert to line speed. As it is not possible to access the NB line other than on a Y the speed will be limited to 40mph (the line speed is indeed 50). I'll report this to Geoff and see if there is a solution.
