A few bugs perhaps? 12/08/2010 at 17:58 #1610

Hello all,

I think I might have found a few bugs I haven't noticed on here, but if I am doing something wrong or it should happen then let me know!

1. I have the TORR off and pulling back signal 201 after sending a train to North Yard from the Down Goods 2. When I pull it back even though the train has gone to the yard, I get a 30 second timeout and penalty added!
This also seems to happen on Signal 23/27 (Clay Cross North Jn, Down Main) when pulling back the signal have a 120 second timeout, even when there is no trains and still does the same thing if sig 54 (some way back) is at red with Auto off too, so it's not that affecting it.

Signal 819 at Newstead also does this

2. There is what looks like a TCF to the right of Moor Bridge NET station

3. Is there a reason why sig 356 at Attenborough Jn doesn't clear straight away if the Stopping button is pressed at Attenborough, but clears straight away for non stop trains?

4. At Nottingham, I noticed on the May 2009 Monday Final TT, if there are 2 trains in a platform, both heading the same way just divided and due to leave at separate times, The first service will leave, and then the service behind will complain it had an adverse change of aspect, even though it wasn't due to leave at that time.

5. With the same timetable as above, it seems trains coming in that use Platform 1 (no lettering) they seem to overhang the station, then when the train divides if booked it, the rear one just fouls the points right up to the down main (towards netherfield), is this more of a TT error?

Cheers,

James.

Others may have more concise answers but...

1. Some signals on Trent timeout regardless of the circumstances as this is what happens on the real Trent panel.

2. The "TCF" at Moor Bridge exists on the real panel although if I recall correctly it may just be a fault on the panel.

3. Because it is used when trains are stopping at the station so the signal doesn't need to clear immediately and protects the crossing which remains open to road vehicles for longer.

4. This is a known issue.

5. Not sure about this one.

Thank you for the reply, but on top of that on what you replied:

3. You realise I mean the signal after doesn't clear, that signal only protects a rail junction, nothing major
I haven't worked out how the Stopping button comes into effect other than holding the signal at red...unlike the other sim's that have this feature (which are all lowered automatically) you still have to lower the gates and clear it yourself anyway...if that makes sense?

Sorry, misunderstood which signal you meant. In this case I have no idea but use of the "stopping" button may introduce approach control to sig 356, but that is mere guesswork.

The Stopping button is for the AHB at Barton Lane, not the CCTV Crossing at Attenborough. The normal Strike-in for the AHB is before the station platform, but there is a secondary one located just beyond the platform. The Non Stopping/Stopping buttons switch between the two, and the stopping one also adds a clearing delay to both TT348 and TT356 so that the driver is slightly more cautious in his departure, and doesn't reach the AHB before the full 37s Sequence is completed

I had a problem at Attenborough where F2 shows the train leaving the station on the down and progressing as normal. However the display shows the train standing at the station. After a few seconds S348 returns to red. The following train runs over this train.

I have a saved snapshot .

Found the problem at Attenborough. The train changes it's TD at Attenborough. Consequently it reverses.

A point to noted by all timetablers.
