Anyone else having difficulty with the 'remember me' feature of this forum or others? All of a sudden things like username and password auto fill have stopped working for this and a couple of other sites. I'm not aware that there has been a recent Firefox update but there may have been. The actual username and password is saved in the password repository and simply clicking on the username box will give you a list of names and options to select from and when doing that the appropriate data will be entered automatically. It's just that it used to auto fill that box for me without my having to select anything. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

The problem is not where or whether the passwords are saved- they are where they have always been. The problem is that for some reason the 'remember me' check box is not remembering me all of a sudden. I just wondered if anyone else had found this problem as there have been some reported problems with Firefox on this forum recently. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Maybe this is something to do with it: Seven logged on, and their 6 names to prove it (or is the seventh 'The Stig'?). I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Log in to reply |

As an avid FF user, the only time I've ever noticed a different set up is when I've cleared the cache (not cookies). After that it seemed to 'forget' my login automatically status. Other than that once I tried the 'Private Browsing' feature of FF and found that upon returning to normal browsing a few minutes later I was no longer logged in automatically to the Simsig site. It had also 'forgotten' that it should have 'remembered'. Logging in again and 'remembering' solved the problem. Just my 2p + VAT worth. Addendum: This site is not the only one this happens to using the scenario described, 2 other sites are also affected. Neither of the other 2 are in any way related to Simsig. Log in to reply |

Don't know what happened but my version of Firefox was not the most up to date and the "check for updates" was greyed out. Downloaded the latest version and it all seems to be working properly. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

Recently changed my computer and don't use FF anymore, however just before I did so I had suffered a couple of months of FF forgetting everything, then remembering everything for a few days (mostly by me having to remind it everything) only for it to then forget everything again. Hadn't changed any settings, and had installed the latest versions/updates. At one point I lost all of my bookmarks, only for them to return a few days later - duplicating themselves in the bookmark list with those I had re-added. Not sure if it has anything to do with an update or something. I certainly hadn't manually changed my privacy settings. Log in to reply |
