Hi, I'm relativley new to sim sig (been using it for about a month or so), and I recently started playing with the 1993 edinburgh timetable. The only problem is, when you start at 00:00, the Aberdeen to London sleeper spawns in dalmeny up yard, and I am having trouble operating the ground frame to get the train out, and I wondered if anyone could give me some step by step instructions as to how to operate the ground frame, as the instructions for the sim, whilst helpful, do not go into a huge amount of detail into the subject (or maybe I'm reading the wrong bit).

Someone is no doubt answering! but I'll jump in and help :)

Instructions:

1 - at the top menu bar click 'show' and in the drop down list hover over 'Lever Frames'

2 - in that list, click on 'Dalmeny Up GF' and a pop up will appear.

3 - Go to Dalmeny Up Siding, see the green text thats Labelled GF with two buttons below, labelled N and F, click on the button to the left of 'F' to activate the lever frame.

4 - In the pop up box, slide the sliders to the bottom on slider 1 and 2, then slide down number 4

5 - The shunt signal should change to white and the train in quetion should move.

6 - Once the train is out, slide the sliders back up in reverse order, so slide 4, 2 and 1 back up.

7 - Right Click on the button to left of the letter 'F' to lock and you can then close the pop up box..done!

Hope that helps :)

James.

Excellent if it's possible to redo it with the frame selection drop-down bit then it's be ideal for the WIKI. There was a project at one time to do these kind of videos but it seemed to die a death before it got off the ground. If I knew how to do it I might give some a go at some point- need a video to explain how to make a video; my son makes YouTube videos maybe ask him... but what software do I need?

I used CamStudio to record the screen; Audacity to record my speech and then just Windows Live Movie Maker to put it together and publish it. Then just upload.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I was almost there, I had been doing the first bit, then trying to route set, or trying 1, 2, 3 on the ground frame.
The video was really helpful, now I can run the timetable without hassle!
