I have a number of panel shots that due to low lighting conditions and limited time came out slightly blurred but just enough not to be able to read numbers on there. Is there any software that can figure out how much displacement has taken place and try to merge it all back into a stable image? Thanks Log in to reply |

No, not really. What you can try (and it worked for me) is using a photo program to increase contrast and brightens and then use the 'sharpen' tool a bit. If there is a lot of grain you can also try to decrease that. Irfanview (a free image viewer) can let you do this in a very crude way, while Photoshop and Lightroom let you change these parameters in very fine ways. I'm not sure if GIMP (free image editing software) let you increase the sharpnes.

I've done the same sort of thing with Photofiltre (freeware) which includes some quite sophisticated filters. Available from here (and don't forget to uncheck the Ask! toolbar option if you won't want your browser upset). Usual disclaimers (own risk, nothing to do with me etc.) but I've used it for a number of years now with no apparent problems. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply The following user said thank you: broodje |

Image Analyzer has similar features, but I don't know how it compares to Photofiltre.
