Well done Danny! How did you get that so quickly? I was expecting a few wrong guesses.

Forget it - I've just spotted there's a station sign visible. Curses.

I am minded to have a guess. The signalbox at platform level reminds me of Acle, Norfolk.

Some more recent photos for you.

CDWFC - this one is hard enough, I think, that I've given you three photos of the same location:
#1
#2
#3

Then here's three others:
CDWFD
CDWFE
CDWFF

Clive,

CDWFD is the railway headquarters building in Kuala Lumpa.

I'll have a guess that CDWFC is Sentuk LRT depot as there is a non-electrified line to the right.

CDWFE - Kuala Lumpa Monorail (don't know which station)

Thanks for the pictures.

Peter.

Correct on D and E (from memory it was Bukit Nanas), but completely and utterly wrong on C. Not even within a thousand miles.

Any opinion on F?

Okay, today's choice.

CDWFG - four photos of the same location:
#1
#2
#3
#4

I'll add that this is the one passing loop on a single track line, and that the only way off the "up" platform in picture 3 is to walk across the tracks directly in front of the train sitting in the "down" platform.

Three others, all taken on the same day as CDWFG.

CDWFH - I'm fairly convinced this is their version of a three-aspect banner repeater. The normal signalling is colour-light aspects and, if it helps, I twice saw a signal showing a steady red and flashing yellow - in one case the yellow was below the red, in the other it was to the left.

(By the way, it's left-hand running; this was taken out of the back window.)

CDWFI - I have no guess as to what this signal or indicator is for.

CDWFJ - this is showing white, not yellow.

CDWFG#2 is a Class 156 in the outskirts of Glasgow.

It does look a bit like that, doesn't it! But Glasgow doesn't have those point indicators and I haven't been to Glasgow this year (whereas I took those pictures on Monday). None of B onwards have been in the UK - I'm on a business trip and taking pictures as I go.

Unless the Southern converted to top-suspended 3rd rails like the UBahn, and depot staff down that end of the network like to walk between the rails without high-viz, I suspect C isn't the UK.

Well, I believe they have been talking about a potential change to third rail...

C looks like Hong Kong but I don't think any railways in HK have third rail so I'm a bit confused.

F also looks Asian but that's about as specific as I can guess!

CDWFI - I have no guess as to what this signal or indicator is for.

CDWFI is a Japanese Obstruction Warning Signal, so I would hazard a guess we are in Japan. No idea where though.

Peter.

Nope, nowhere near.

True, but I didn't fly on the days that I took any of these (except B).

F is a short train ride from D and E. G to J are all within 25 miles of each other as the crow flies (further by train).

Correct! See if you can narrow it down a bit.

Interesting! It's not Japan, but looking at that page there are some similarities (such as the repeater signals that look like "Toton" indicators"). There is very probably some Japanese influence.
