I have some train (in the "official" timetable) coming from Filton to Staplenton Road (that is: from the right on the screen) on the down line, that should go to Barrow Road RTS. But when I press the 250 signal (at Staplenton Road ) and then the gray arrow at Barrow Road RTS, a get a "Subroute locked in opposite directon". Why? There are no other routes set. So I can not make gone in trains, coming from Filton. Log in to reply |

Hari Asking the idiot question, did you start the sim in Modern or 1980's era? In the modern setting, there is no direct access from the Filton Dn Line to Barrow Road RTS so signal 250 is unable to set a route. You can only get into the RTS by reversing from the Up Line using the shunt signal 538 at Lawrence Hill GF. In the 1980's era setting, there is a crossover and this allows me to set the route with no problems. I have so many bits of Bristol TTs scattered over my computer that I can't remember which is the "official" version. If you can post which TT (e.g. Bristol 1985 v3.21 or Bristol 2004 Easy) and the TD, I'm sure someone will let you know how to get the train into the RTS (or let you know that it is an error in the TT). Hari Glad you got it sorted, anyway. JG “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

And where is SA38X signal (in Severn Bench / Hallen Marsh JN area)? By the way, if I tell to the tain "Authorize train to pass signal at danger" , the train status change to "move at 0 mph" and then back to "Waiting at red signal SA38X". (As above: Timetable = "Bristol 1985 v.3.21" era = "1980s based".) Log in to reply |

SA38X is a dummy signal at the end of the Severn Beach branch. A train can't pass it as there is no more track. For it to be pointing the wrong way, it looks like the train was fiddled with, sent the wrong way, or something.

Hi, Further to the above I am currently running Bristol 1985 v.3.21 with the 1980's layout. I have had problems with two trains routed from the Filton direction into Barrow Road RTS. Both trains have stopped at Stapleton Road, and the drivers have phoned to say that the routing is incorrect. The only way I could convince them was to abort the timetable and then run to the same timetable after they had passed the offending signal. Any idea what the problem was? Log in to reply |

I got round this problem by sending the trains to Barrow Road (North).

Route into Barrow Rd is a known bug. Easiest way round problem is to simply tell the driver to "abandon TT" on answering the call, as the train is going off sim anyway.

Thanks for info, I am glad to know that it wasn't an operating error.
