hi all

in game of centscot the other night, time was given to try and work out a way to operate the AB section of centscot authentically.

it seems that some players are worried about the complexety of AB working but i think it would be possible to create a basic interpretation of AB working which would be understandable to even the newest player. this will of course mean the procedures wouldnt be 100% accuarate but would at least offer a fun alternative which is user freindly.

is anyone interested in me having a go as it will take some time?

also any comments?

A method I used in the past is to simply collar my home signal when the CP is blocked. Use a general reminder (cyan) for line blocked, and traction (magenta) for train on line. Neither indicates line clear for the next train.
I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Yes, in the early days of CScot quite a few games were done that way, with bell codes sent through the message window and collars on the home or section signal to prevent the box in rear pulling off. As and when NEScot is released though, block instruments are built in.

im avoiding bell codes and working with telephone block so messages are simpler and clearer

If I understand the situation correctly, the same AB Working as used on the version of NE Scot used at the London 2010 meet will likely be implemented onto CScot but I don't know when this will be. You can see this here.

Personally I'm quite happy with it, it looked daunting at first but I had the great pleasure of using it at the aforementioned meet and I think it works great. Some may say it's lacking but you have to bear in mind it's may have been designed within some kind of limitation(s) of the simulation.

No need for bell codes etc, as you have the advantage of visible approaching TDs.
Just use the collars to represent the block instruments.

The AB bells will not be implemented into CScot (far too complicated) and I have no plans to do any other AB areas at this time.
