Emergency services are dealing with an incident at Crewe.

Because of this, the station is currently closed and no trains will run through the area until further notice. Journeys will be delayed by up to 60 minutes. Northern Rail trains will start / terminate at Sandbach. Further information for other Train Companies will be provided as soon as possible.
Anyone have anymore information on this?

National Rail Enquires have just updated to say the disruption should be clear at about 23:30, so whatever it is it's not as bad as it could have been.

According to @LondonMidland
on Twitter...but that's doesn't mean the cause is confirmed yet.

According to Sky News:

Quote:
"A number of people have been injured in an explosion at Crewe railway station.
Cheshire Police say trains have been suspended and surrounding roads cordoned off, but insist the situation is under control.

Fire units and ambulances have been sent to the scene, where a few minor injuries are being treated by ambulance crews.

Reports the blast was a gas explosion have not been confirmed, but police say there is nothing to suggest anything suspicious."
