Is there any news as to when the Saltley sim is going to be released? I was unable to go to the meet earlier in the year so couldnt get to see the sim in use.

The phrase it's ready when it's ready springs to mind.

IMHO The meet version is good enough to play so few problems with it, no more than we would find on any others. Fingers crossed its soon though. Blessed are the true believers, for only they shall walk the Path, and they shall be welcomed unto the realm of the Ori and made as one with Them. Sorry for the lack of updates on Saltley lately. I hope to have it ready very soon, unfortunatly I have had some pretty major personal issues lately, which as I am sure you will understand, take precidence over everything. Hope to get the ball rolling again very soon Ta Daz Log in to reply The following user said thank you: MJD |

I do hope everything is OK and I look forward, patiently, to the release of Saltley. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. Log in to reply |

Yes, likewise Daz, hope all is improving for you. This is one sim I'm SERIOUSLY looking forward to as it used to be my home stamping ground (especially the Snow Hill-Leamington line!) I can still visualise the SY idents on the signal posts! Thanks for all the work you've put into this sim! OOS Log in to reply |

I rcv'd an e-mail from Darren yesterday as it is anticipated to include a 1995-1996 timetable for Saltley which I have written to be included with the sim when it is ready for uploading. Darren has had to make some adjustments to the sim when he played it after all the trains were added into the timetable. He says that he is hoping to send me back the timetable at some point next week for me to do the last alterations to some trains that go into Lawley street FLT from the south. Once that is done(shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to do & test). I will e-mail the timetable back to him for adding to the sim. Just to point out to future players of this timetable it is quite intensive & alot of slot requests & careful regulating required. So at present this timetable is about 98% complete. As I've played this timetable & the sim quite a few times whilst testing it is definately worth the wait. Hopefully not too long for you all. I have also supplied him about 25 photos taken at Saltley & some surrounding places during 1986 & 1987. So also awaiting to see which ones he choses for 'splash' screens.

Travelled the SnowHill -Wycombe line yesterday: whilst a long way from Saltley, it was nice to race through Aynho junction northbound at 84mph.. fastest ever! Mind you, still got held outside Moor St for nearly 5 mins which NEARLY made me miss my connection. I FLEW out of the Chiltern 168, raced up the steps 3 at a time over the bridge & down the steps to platform 1 to see the doors still open & ran inside - just as the doors were closing... phew! That's called cutting it fine! I spent the next 5 minutes panting like a dog on a hot day catching my breath!

Aynho Junction has become a very dangerous place to work since the Down Bicester line was increased to 85mph over BS404 points onto the main line.

Yes, bit of a jump from 40mph isn't it! I noticed on the way back that even though the limit has increased to 90mph over the junction onto the Bicester line we only did 50mph. I assume this was a TSR due to the work in progress on the over bridge just before the junctuon. 2 days less to wait now for Saltley! Log in to reply |

There is a TSR over a new set of points about half a mile towards Banbury at the moment, think this is due to be lifted shortly.
