If you take the trouble to read to the bottom of the page instead of knee-jerking a reaction, there is a check box which you must click on to confirm that you agree with the terms and conditions for use of SimSig sims. You can then click on the adjacent "download" button and the files come over with no problems. I am trying to download the system files and the cambridge sim from the downloads/uploads section of the new site. I have followed the path Downloads/Uploads > Official Software > Download first! System Files > System files V2.103. I can see the word "download" but am unable to find a check box which you must click on to confirm that you agree with the terms and conditions for use of SimSig sims, anywhere on that page or the pages clicked through to reach the download page. I must be missing something somewhere. Any further help would be gratefully apreciated. Kermit Log in to reply |

System Files > System files V2.103. click on the "download" link. Then a page is shown about licence / legal stuff. In this new page, go to the very botton, on the left. Check the check box and then click on the nearby "sonload" button. Log in to reply |

Underneath the "Must Agree to License:" bit there should be another page of text, with the checkbox at the bottom. Underneath all that are a couple more lines with "(C) 2009 SimSig", "Powered by Joomla" etc. Do you see any of this? What browser are you using? (Firefox/IE/?) Is anybody else seeing a blank page? Just tried it with latest Firefox and IE (don't know which version but had it 2 years). Firefox works- IE does not- please bear with us. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

IE does seem to be the culprit. I've removed all formatting from the license text and it now shows on IE correctly, with checkboxes and all. However, you might want to wait an hour or two as I'm about to upload some new files. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

I can see it correctly with seamonkey and even with lynx. However the page does not pass the validator test of http://validator.w3.org/ I can not see at the moment where the problem can be. There are some parts of the page to add xml data that are strange to me, as are strange to me line like [if lte IE 6] I have never know before of this characteristic of internet explorer to add this conditional test. I have found information about this characteristic on this page and this page (and I will refrain to add my comments about this characteristic) It would be interesting to know how can the page be seen from a recent version of IE. Thanks for the validation test link. More than half the errors are to do with the Shout box, so it would appear. While the pages are not perfect, they do seem to render on various browsers now so I'll sort out the remaining issues later.

Just tried it using XP and FireFox V3.5.5. Clicked on System Files V2.103....Got the System Files V2.103 page. Clicked on the download link (just the right of the title) which takes you to the "Must agree to License" page. At the bottom of that page is a checkbox. Checking the box allows the Download button to be pressed. This takes you back to the System V2.103 download page Click on the download link and wait...the file should download (mine took upward of 10 seconds from clicking the final link to the file actually appearing). Also tried on same PC with IE8 and that works too. So it works for me. Do you have to use those browsers or can you update them (If for no other reason than security)? XP and Vista are both capable of running IE8. Log in to reply |

For completeness I've also tried on XP with Opera (v10.01), Safari (v4.0.3) and Google Chrome (v3.0.195.33) and in each case the Licence page displays correctly and the download button works.
