After much work and time over the last few months have now completed a simplifier for Edinburgh 2006. It's in excel format but unsure how to upload it for other members to use. Can someone please advise.

Sounds good.
Probably best on the WIKI, but exactly how you do that I'm not sure- people have uploaded pdfs before so maybe one of them will be able to advise.

It was a bit difficult at first to work it out but I have previously managed to work out how to upload a file (a .pdf, as it goes) to the Wiki. If you eMail the .pdf file to me, spam@uktrainman.tk (this is deliberately used as an anti-spam measure), and provide a link of the Wiki page you'd like the file added to I can add it for you and probably even place it where you'd like too, or just give you the 'text' to enter onto the Wiki.

Hope this helps.

The file is an Excel Workbook does this make a difference?

I don't think so, but would probably need some confirmation from someone else on that... AndyG?

is it a .xls file? if so it should be OK, if it's something else I may need to set the standing data to accept- that's for the main forum anyway.
There is a timetable sub-section to Edinburgh probably best place for it.

Yes the file extension is .xls. It contains 12 sheets, 6 Panels x 2 Sheets (up & down). Am I still emailing this to UKTrainMan? or am I sending it to you Peter?

Yours in extreme confusion lol

I searched the wiki for this simplifier, but couldn't locate it. Is it still available?

Uploaded to the Wiki.

edinburgh_simplifier.xls and edinburgh_2006_simplifier_notes.doc

Had originally asked (Post #6) where on the Wiki to put the simplifier and notes but no-one said anything. I'm sure someone else will know what to do with them / where appropriate to put them.

Apologies for any confusion and delay but have now converted this simplifier into a pdf document (or rather 12 pdf documents - two files for each workstation - up and down).

Have also further looked at the Wiki part of the site and thought about where this should be shown. Apologies to Trainmanuk but i was under the impression that he would have better knowledge than I and would put it wherever was best. I cannot find anywhere specific to place this simplifier and I am unsure whether someone could add a Point 17 in the index for Edinburgh User Manual to accommodate simplifiers.

Could someone please advise whether I would be able to do this or does it need to be done by an Administrator?

Apology/ies accepted (if needed) and my own apologies if I've somehow given the wrong impression at some point. I have self-taught myself a lot of stuff to do with the Wiki, however in this case I may not be the right person. Perhaps part of the problem I've been having or the reason behind it is that I don't usually deal with simplifiers as, if I'm totally honest, I've never had the need for them, which may be the cause behind my 'unsure-ity'.

However, having also had a further look at the Wiki just now I can now see what could be done along the lines of what tbh183 has just mentioned above, so if you could leave it with me and I'll see what I can do this very evening.

Cheers.

And done.

I created this page and added the links to download the simplifier itself plus the notes and I edited this page with a link to that page (the one I created).

I believe it's OK but welcome any thoughts/feedback, etc.

Cheers.

Oops. Turns out I had created this page ("eidnsimp"and not created this page ("edinsimp"). Full credit to MELD for spotting my error and letting me know about it.
