London Midland are doing a farewell to the Class 150s. Official info on London Midland website Thread on the RailUK Forums The reason for posting this is to both provide the information to fellow SimSiggers but also as part of a request. I'd love it if someone could use the times (available in the pdf on the London Midland website) for a SimSig timetable. Either if you're writing a timetable already then please consider adding it in or if not write a separate timetable add-on for this train. I'd appreciate it, as I'm sure others would too. I doubt I will go but what a splendid idea and a great way to raise money for a worthwhile cause. Lets hope they fill the train. Dave Log in to reply |

4 carriages going to First Great Western, 8 carriages going to Northern Rail and 6 carriages staying at London Midland (so the farewell is maybe a bit premature?)

150130 did a number of trips from Rdg-Bsk a couple of Sundays back, and have now been nicknemed "garden sheds" by the staff unofficially (myself included ) . According to a couple of managers I have spoken to, the test went OK (loosing a minute here or there, possible retimings may occur), and 3-cars are being looked into to cover the route.
When in doubt - Contingency plan 2A. Someone didn't buy the milk - 2A. Someone sneezed at Swansea - 2A. A driver complains the cab is too cold - 2A. Unable to operate a HEx service 4 vice 8 - 2A. Points failure at Ipswich - 2A. Landslip at Pitlochry - 2A Log in to reply |

Reminds me of the first 150 passender train at Worcester. 4 coach 150/1 formation as a preview for the new Sprinter service. I have photos somewhere. Must have been 1986 or 1987.

That's a shame. However, I rode on the LM 150 Friday on my way back and forth from Worcester. I certainly won't miss them as I always seem to keep breaking the seats.. Log in to reply |

That's pretty easy to do as most of the seats in the LM 150s are pretty much knackered anyway! AND they're too small: you end up with one cheek on, one cheek off as it were!

After a trip in the West Midlands with some 172 mileage, They're much nicer than the 150s. I bet the crews prefer them as they pull away quicker and smoother, proven when our 172 from Stourbridge - Moor Street pulled in to Stourbridge around 5 early :) Sam "Signalman Exeter" Log in to reply |

Yeah, when I first went on a London Overground 172 (172005, to be exact) I noticed they were certainly nippy, which was nice. However the seats look weird (London Midland 172s probably the same) and I think they're less comfortable too. Bit like comparing the seats on an LM 350/1 to seats on an LM 350/2.

Regarding the Class 150 farewell tour itself, London Midland on Twitter have just Tweeted this: "Quick update on our 'Farewell 150' charity special train on 12 Nov marking end of old trains on Snow Hil lline - all tickets now sold out!"
