Is anyone able to help. I have recently purchased some old 70's WTT for the Western region with the intention of attempting to put them into a Sim Sig timetable but I am struggling to understand references in the Timing column. DMU is self explanatory but the others seem a bit of a mystery, at least to me. Codes such as H3,H4, G4,G5, E6 and others with just single numbers such as 4 or 6. The reporting numbers are above the timing column as is the case with more modern WTT's and that should take care of the speeds, but obviously the timing codes refer to the haulage and loadings. Any help would be appreciated. Geoff Log in to reply |

Thanks for the pointers Spanner and this may solve part of the question, however not all. Take for example 1C63 13:15 from Paddington to Cardiff Central. This has a timing load of E6 and 1V86 10:40 Leeds to Paignton which has M6. I did wonder if these would be shown in the Sectional Appendix. Ipswich....The timetables are dated May - October 1975 and I have managed to aquire PA, PB, PC and PD if that helps. Thanks for you help guys. Geoff Log in to reply |
