Just watched this video, found it interesting and thought a lot of you may also do so too. Scenes of interest are installation of the OHLE and signals, Hill St 'box at Birmingham New Street and a bit of a cab ride too. Couldn't not recognise the unmistakeable approach to Hanslope Junction at the 8:13 mark, I think I recognised Milton Keynes station(?) at around the 8:30 mark.

See http://www.macearchive.org/Archive/Title/atv-today-06031967-your-new-railway/MediaEntry/33160.html to watch it yourselves.

Enjoy it, I sure did.

(Thanks to @thebunkline on Twitter for their Tweet about it).

Fantastic bit of history about New Street. I worked there between 1989 and 2001 and remember that the Enquiry Bureau still existed. I did train announcing for a year which gave me a privileged seat in front of the Powerbox panel. In the early 60s we lived at Nuneaton and I can recall seeing the electrification trains at Trent Valley station.
A rebuild at New Street is underway, but one was done in the 90s and didn't make much difference, so will be interesting to see if the present one does any better.
Thanks for a slice of history UKTM.

It would have to be Bletchley; Milton Keynes Central wasn't built until 1982!
