Interesting! I know that some cycling campaigners have been pushing for a while for the car park near the signalbox to be turned into a Transport Hub, with the part of the old terminus train shed that's still a car park to become a concourse for it. I wonder if this is where NR want to put new platforms - after the signalbox has been removed presumably - or if they were thinking of an island in the main shed (not enough room for two platforms there surely?)
