Some assistance please. Put simply how do I embed one WORD document within another? By that I mean the embedded one shows simply as a clicable icon link- all attempts so far have resulted in the full text being written within the second document. I'm sure I've seen it done before but I can't manage it myself. pdfs seem to work OK but not WORD nor EXCEL for that matter.

Asking my paperclip on a motorcycle is useless probably because I'm not asking the question correctly!

Thanks

Peter

Im running Word 2010, but I went to "Insert" an chose "Object". On the dialog I selected the "Create from File" tab and on that I selected the file and also ticked "Display as icon". This seemed to work to insert a spreadsheet into word.

Hope this helps...

Hi Peter

Keith's description is correct for Office 2007 and 2003 as well.

The icon is automatically set, based on the filetype of the embedded document.
