Just wondering... The Royston sim is based on conditions in the late 70s and early 80s. Was there any centralized signalling similar to what we see today (i.e., some kind of electronic display NX panel) and if so, where would it have been located? :) (edit) Added Junction to the photo label - see below! Unless I am mistaken, there is no junction at Royston so the photo you've shared is not the same place. Royston covers the area around Royston railway station. In real life, and as mentioned on the Wiki manual, this is controlled by King's Cross PSB but for simulation purposes it is either it's own separate simulation or is on the Cambridge simulation, both of which can be chained with King's Cross (but not at the same time). (My excuse is that I'm an Aussie) Turns out that Royston junction happens to be just north of Royston and Notton railway station, see also map here. Not to be confused with Notton and Royston railway station. I give up. Think I'll just stick to sim playing. (added) This pic is more like it. in rough answer to the question maxand, royston sim covers the area around royston station that was "snipped" off kings cross sim, as in real life, its an extension of hitchin panel, as is the line to biggleswade. in SimSig these have been covered by peterborough and cambridge. royston was on the now sadly closed sheffield- normanton section of the midland mainline, with royston junction was for the branch running to Barnsley courthouses "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply The following user said thank you: maxand |
