VERY nice! Thanks Geoff. I only wish I lived in the UK and had a chance to attend the meets (14000 km is a bit to much of a strain on the job and the pocket) :D:/ Regards, NR Log in to reply |

Hmm, Just saw the overview for BNS this looks rather complex but having had a trial go on thepc-rail version with less detail it seems like its stright forward but with lots of train movements durring the peak it can and prob will get very so may I say I am looking forward to this being released in the near future. They don't - AFAICT! Likewise looking forward to playing this one. I've always thought of New St station as "The Black Hole Of Birmingham"! Re. B'ham New St panel vs. Saltley Panel - thanks Geoff for clearing up the confusion. I THINK you can guess what the next question wil be....! Log in to reply |

I'm under the impression the question was for a preview shot as posted for Birmingham - everyone knows that to ask anything about dates is now so disastrous as to make an extra deadly sin!
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply |

Am I right in thinking that on the overview shot on page 3 of this topic is Coventry to the left then Birmingham International(for airport I think) so the left direction would the UP and to the right would be Down then after BNS station the track splits into different directions when I went to Crewe recently I couldnt understand at first why we didnt pass BNS but I realise now that Crewe is on a different route I wasnt happy as I really wanted to take a look at this area with my own eyes has anyone any ideas as I dont think theres anything on youtube is there.

Coventry Fringe to the far left (Berkswell) [Stour Lines] Top left is onto Saltley via Landor Street/St Andrews Top right is towards the West Suburban (Five Ways, University) Middle right is towards Wolverhampton (Dudley Port) [Stour Lines] Bottom right is towards Bescot (and Wolverhampton via Darlaston) Middle bottom, Aston Station, lines towards Stechford, Sutton Coldfield and Walsall. Without drawing a quick map, hope above sort of makes sense. Log in to reply |

Here is a simple diagram for those who get lost north of the Watford Gap. Click to enlarge, if it doesn't display correctly click link below http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/3357/bhmsimples1.png A very simple diagram of the layout drawn from memory, 7 years of working at New Street has finally come in useful. Without a doubt the SimSig version will be better, larger skill base on the developing side. When this one does come to fruition, except some evil Multiplays, as I know the area like the back of my hand so will quiet easily get away with creating some chaos! Now that's the way I always see BNS but, for the Sim you need to rotate the diagram by 180 to conform with the panel. I'm good for the SW traffic (Gloucester and Worcester via the Stour Extension) but it's been a while since I looked at the rest. Bring it on boy's. Dave M. Log in to reply |

Nope, drawn as per panel, diagram is correct, albeit a simple one. You need to rotate 180° if you want it as it is on the ground in real life.

Think that's confusing, from my Announcer days "Yep that train will go out North (End) to Wolverhampton" You can go North four ways to Wolverhampton from New Street
Confused! The first two you actually depart West, though referred to as the North End, the second two via Proof House, referred to as the South End, is actually East, which you also go North from. I'll let you all catch up now! Log in to reply |

Is it true that in the new street station confines there are no overlaps behind the signales, or is this just a rumor on the internet.
