I enjoy Stafford but have changed my PC which runs Vista 64. Can't install Stafford. Is there any way it can be made to run on Vista 64 at all? Thankyou. Russ Log in to reply |

I can e-mail you the files from Program Files. It is said this is a way to install it on Vista 64. Is this allowed? Or switch to Linux 64-bit, the Stafford installer works fine there. AJP in games Log in to reply |

I very much doubt he will want to switch to Linux, and I doubt you can send him the files.

If it's 32bit windows 7 then yes I think it will. If it is Windows 7 64 bit then no it won't.

I could re-package the files of Stafford (and the other sims with 64-bit problems) in a new EXE running on both 32- and 64-bit computers, if this is allowed. These installers are still 16-bit, and with the introduction of 64-bit processors, some 16-bit support has been dropped. Edit: I have made an installer for it and it works on Linux 64-bit (but the old installer also did - Linux people never dropped 16-bit), Stafford is able to run. Don't have Windows 64-bit here to test it on (my Windows is 32-bit). Can anyone tell me, is the file DeIsL1.isu the uninstall information of the official installer? AJP in games Log in to reply |

Yes DeIsL1.isu is the uninstall script from the original setup.exe

Ok thanks then I don't have to include it. Can anyone here tell me if it's allowed to repackage the sim? If yes, I'll post it in Downloads after someone has made sure it runs fine on 64-bit Windows.
