The timetable which was packaged in the NLL simulation had a few errors, including forward workings for the trains you mention being missing. You can download a corrected and updated version ("North London Line Winter 2003 (Revised)"from the Downloads/Uploads area of this forum;

Downloads/Uploads -> User-contributed -> Timetables -> North London Line -> North London Line Winter 2003 (Revised) (last entry on first page).

Can a MOD move this to the Timetables/NLL section?

Adjustments need to be made to the scrolly version of NLL.

For starters, the TTs for 0C23, 0C31, 0C45 and 0C59 need to be adjusted to include South Tottenham West (reverse).

And 0L35 needs to have a stop at TM EJ rev, rather than a passing time...

All TT queries note post #1 of this thread, and remember it's a beta release "warts and all".

The TT description includes "NB Edited to enable use with beta rather than 100% accuracy, not intended to be bug free as beta release only for testing." However, there are a couple of show-stoppers which users may want to edit when they open the TT. Both 1V20 and 5V20 are due to go down the GWML but are shown as electric traction. They both come to a grinding halt at Acton Wells junction due to having unsuitable traction unless the power is changed from electric to diesel before the trains enter the sim.

I've now submitted an improved version of the Winter 2003 TT for the NLL beta scrolly. I've called this version V1.2A.

The previous version still had a number of separate pairs of 'fragments' for trains that ran via the interconnecting lines. I have merged each pair together into a single train that runs right through. I have similarly united the Stratford/Seven Sisters commuter trains with their corresponding ECSs to/from Finsbury Park.

I have reviewed the origins and destinations of all the trains that run via Acton Canal Wharf and corrected these where they appeared obviously wrong. As a result, this version now includes trains to/from Willesden No 7 and Neasden South junctions.

I've also tidied up the entry probabilities and rules so that for each pair of alternative variants of trains, one and only one should appear.

Secondly, though, I've also sorted out a number of errors that were inherited from the original pre-scrolly version of this TT, including:

  • fixing some trains wrongly set to reverse at Kensal Green Jn itself rather than the reversing siding,

  • correcting locos from Barking to Temple Mills to reverse at South Tottenham (West Rev), not the station itself (which as discussed recently the track layout doesn't allow),

  • correcting the motive power of a few trains from Harlesden Jn to Acton East Jn from AC to diesel, and

  • correcting the NLL/WLL train lengths from 4 to 3 cars, and adding the joins for 5N05, which as a result can be correctly done.

I can't guarantee I may not have missed one or two small things, but hopefully you'll find this version a useful improvement over the earlier one.

Adrian we are currently playing through your timetable.

No train references 2N56, and 2N44 comes into Richmond and then forms 2N88 which is a fair few hours away. I think there may be an issue with the stepping up but can't really dig into it at the moment.

Thanks. I've actually found a couple more bugs (missing mutex rules) myself since I published that version, so no doubt there's scope for further improvement.

A bit flattered to see you describe it as "my" timetable, as all I did was take the earlier version and try and sort some of the issues out. Very possible there were other errors I just didn't find.

I'm pretty sure, though, that 2N33 (I assume that's what you meant) becoming 2N88 is correct, because I think something similar also happens in one of the other NLL TTs I've played. What's basically happening here is that the unit rests at Richmond during the middle of the day then comes back into service for the evening peak.

I had renumbered 2N56 as 2N561 but it appears I forgot to make the corresponding change to the Next train of 2N451, which is probably why the latter doesn't appear when you click for References. But I'm pretty sure the sim nevertheless does the right thing when 2N451 terminates - in the F2 train list I think you'll find the train ID itself shows 2N56 but the TT it's running to is liested as 2N561. I certainly saw exactly that happen in one other case, which I did then correct, but it's possibly why I didn't spot this error in my testing!) Let me know if you spot any more of these and I'll correct them in my master working version.

Ahh I didn't consider that it was booked to sit at Richmond all afternoon, it's my first run through of an NLL TT.

I'll let you know if we dig up anything else.

Is there any chance of getting this updated version of the TT as part of the download of the NLL (Scrolly) sim?

I was gonna raise each of the points you just raised (except the last one, though I'm probably not up to that time yet) but I see this has already been rectified as per the quote. I will now start again with the revised TT and I will post if I see anything else that perhaps needs looking into.

But I am enjoying the busy-ness of it. Look forward to getting into this revised TT.

Regards

Nil.
