A Magnitude 8.8 Earth Quake has hit in North East Japan off the coast 250 miles from Tokyo with the nearest city of Sendai so far hardest hit. Tsunamis have washed several miles inland carrying everything before them. The quake is said to be the worst in Japan for over 150 years. Tsunami warnings have been issued to the whole Pacific Region with Far Eastern Russia and the Phillipines likely to be the next places to be hit by Tsunamis. The death toll is already 26 but likely to rise.

Yep it is terrible news. Some of the videos coming out of the area show some pretty devestating scenes. Keeping with the railway theme, the news reporter also stated that a train has gone missing somewhere along the line too, as well as numerous ships. I hope those affected will be able to recover quickly from this disaster.
