Ok, I'll admit it's rubbish. But at least it's railway themed. If you think you can do better, please reply here. Any images you use must belong to you, incorporate the SimSig logo, be in JPG format, and have a pixel dimension of 957x170. If I get several good submissions then they can all go up as the skin rotates through them all. I do have some reasonable photos of panels and suchlike which can be used.

Geoff: Can you tell me what the font name and sizes are so that I can try putting the "logo" on a couple of images to offer? Alternatively, if you have the image saved as a JPG/TIFF or other format with an alpha channel I can superimpose it. Regards. Log in to reply |

Here's the logo in GIF format. I'm not sure about alpha channels though I was able to lose the white in the bled last night. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

Can you remove the other top pictures so that only the Simsig one appears?

Geoff, the new logo was 1.jpg Can you also save it as 2.jpg for the time being so that the mountains disappear quicker? I had to refresh my pages several times to get the new logo (which IS much better. Best regards, Ken Log in to reply |

Nroberts, the wording on the bottom left corner is NOT part of the logo. It is text put on afterwards. So don't worry about the font for that. Ken Log in to reply |

clive said:I'm still getting the building at the top of the mountain whenever I click on "Home".I thought it was some kind of abstract image of a dolphin! But looking closer I see it's not. Anyway, yes there are two images and I can simply delete the 2nd one. As I understand it, several can be added and it'll rotate randomly between them. And yes, the bottom left text is overlaid by the template. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

Mark, The current ones are 957 x 170 but I just wondered if Geoff could put up a wider one for a test to see if the screen expanded to match it? Something like 1000 x 170? Ken Log in to reply |

Here goes as a link to the TIFF formatted Logo with alpha channels (this allows overlaying while keeping the transparencies - as per the current image at the top). http://www.cpem17.com.ar/temp/SimSig%20Logo.tif BTW, haven't figured out how to attach the image to the message itself (that's why I posted a link). Nicholas, two things: the link just brought up a quick flash of an Apple Quicktime icon on my PC. The actual top logo is also a jpg not a tiff. to put an attachment on the message you 'should' now be able to click on the blue Attachment link in the Reply section (below) and upload the file itself. For some weird reason the TIFF file gets opened by Quicktime (I don't really know why). I've used the attachment option but keep getting an "upload error" after I select (With the Examine button) the file and click Submit. Regards. Win XP SP3, Firefox 3.5.5 Log in to reply |

Worked now Peter. Here goes in three different formats (png, tiff and gif). Let's see what they look like once uploaded :/ Can you also add .tif (only one "f"since it's the usual extension for these files? Thanks, NR Edit: Wow, these version are horrible. I'll try exporting again and reuploading... Edit2: Minor changes Edit3: Even though the preview of the 1st image (PNG) looks horrible, when clicked will produce the original which looks a LOT better. Edit4: Best option is to Ctrl-Click or right click and select open in new tab which will then allow the image to be saved to a local drive (otherwise you get the floating agora popup which would apparently not allow saving). The Logo .TIF version (Just checking if it starts quicktime or displays). It's the same as uploaded in the previous message but with the short 3 letter extension. Log in to reply |

That tif till starts Quicktime but VERY quickly displays an excellent SimSig logo. Can you try jpg or are you trying to build a composite picture? Sorry to use you as a test bed but I've got loads of photo's in jpg to upload later! Best regards, Ken Log in to reply |

Ken: The problem I've had with JPG is that it doesn't support transparency as do GIF, TIFF or PNG formats which DO support an alpha channel or other form of transparency. However you don't mention what software you're considering to use to merge the photo with the logo. Most graphical software packages won't have any problem with opening a JPG photo and superimposing a PNG or TIFF image and saving the result as JPG (transparency basically goes away when the two images are coalesced).
