I was just wondering whether or not the auto lower feature has the trigger in the right place. Most noticeable on the section between Scunthorpe and barnetby the trains appear to pass the distant before the barriers start to go down surely the barriers need to be down before the train passes the distant so that trains aren't unduly slowed for the crossings. If the barriers are lowered manually then before the train passes the barriers you get the excessive delay at xxxx crossing

I've not tried the auto-lower, but it is possible to work Elsham and Appleby crossings manually in such a way that the trains always see a green distant, but you don't get penalised. It needs practise, and paying careful attention to the time booked for the Elsham-Appleby section for each train.

To be fair, Elsham and Appleby are still manned in real life.

Mickster66 is Indeed correct. In fact there are numerous crossings on the sim that are still manned and many a discussion was had about how best to implement them. It was eventually decided that as they were manned that the likelyhood was they would be converted to CCTV if the area ever came under IECC control. However, that adds a lot of crossings so the auto lower was included to make it slightly easier from single person play. The auto lower should be set up so the trains see all greens so I will investigate that for the Elsham and Appleby crossings.

The auto-lower seems to miss an obvious check in that the LC should not lower if the route isn't set for the train to go over it.
