The thing is the instructions on that page does not help me at all in finding the settings I need to regain access.

Can any one help me

I am so use to XP and vista
7 baffles me
Only had it a week

Yours hopefully

Have you tried a different browser?

Your message is a bit cryptic but I assume you are referring to this problem if so then as I understand it it is a browser problem rather than a Win7.

Yep that's it
Sorry for being cryptic didn't mean to be
I know of the Firefox fix as I have used it before
My problem is I can not find options and the cookie fix option on win 7

What I am trying to say is the fix page is not the same on 7 as it is on vista and xp
Hope that makes sense

Have been with 7 for some time. I think it is the browser. In Firefox go Tools>Options find "Remove individual cookies" click, find ALL SimSig cookies and remove them and start Simsig.co.uk again. That's what works fr me each time there is a Firefox update

Just to confirm, are you using Firefox or a different browser?

Maybe depends on which version of FF you are using. I'm still with 3.something but I believe there is a version 10 or possibly higher which may work differently.

For what its worth, my Windows 7 64-bit machine uses Firefox. I have version 10.0.2. I've never had to remove anything or change anything. The SimSig site has always just worked.

Still, its likely the fix page was for an old version of Firefox. If you have newer instructions then you should add them to the old thread stating what version you are using.

Several people have asked you questions about your browser which you have not answered, I suspect without that information it'll be difficult to give a meaningful and quick response.

Basicaly what browser(s) are you using and what version?

I've recently changed from VISTA to WIN7 (also have XP) and using the same version of Firefox and the fix is identical on each.

For future ref when using Google Chrome, you can access and delete the cookies individually (so you don't lose all of your site specific settings for all your sites). On my system I can do it by:

1. Click on the spanner icon in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Select "Under the bonnet" from the left hand menu bar.
3. Click on the Content Settings button in the Privacy section.
4. Click on the All Cookies and Site Data button in the Cookies section.
5. Find www.SimSig.co.uk in the list and click on it.
6. That shows the SimSig cookies, each on its own button.
7. Click each button in turn and then click on the Remove button at the bottom of the details.

HTH.

You could just try not deleting your cookies, or is that too simple?

I'm getting the same page coming up with IE and Chrome, I'm running win7 and I've given up with IE because even if I delete all the cookies i still get the same message. Is there a permanent fix for this?

Cheers

I'm also getting the bad login problem on IE8 (which I'm compelled to use on this machine). I have no cookies for SimSig.co.uk

Any chance of a fix?

Cheers

If you are using IE8 in 'Private Browsing' no cookies will be saved. Check that you are using IE in 'normal' mode.

I am browsing in normal mode. I can create cookies. I don't have a cookie from this site. I have been to the site successfully in the past as I have relatively recent sims installed. Saltley being the most recent I think.
