I cannot see this mentioned anywhere else so thought I would post it. The Down Goods line between Longbridge and Cofton is not signalled for passenger use. Although this line is controlled by Saltley PSB and not Gloucester, trains which enter the sim at Longbridge can do so on either the Fast line or the Slow line as the first TD berth shown is at a point before they become Main and Goods respectively. 2Gxx trains on the 1985 timetable I have go to Redditch, so never actually enter the area of Gloucester PSB control, however they go between Longbridge and Cofton on the Down Goods line prior to branching off at Barnt Green. There is no issue with electrification at this point as they are all formed of Class 116 DMUs prior to the Cross City electrification. I have had a look on the timetable editor but it appears there is no scope for a train to enter the sim on the slow line, and then be crossed over onto the main line at Longbridge station, which is what these trains would have to do in reality. It seems that any train entering Slow line will continue onto the Goods irrespective of its class. Log in to reply |
