Abbotswood Bug 27/02/2012 at 09:56 #30075

Been playing Gremlins at Work scenario on Gloucester for the last few days.

Just had a track circuit failure at Abbotswood Junction on the Down Main which prevents a route being set from Norton Junction out onto the main line.

Train 6V70 is trapped at G126 signal unable to proceed any further, and has been for about twenty minutes now.

Whilst he was standing there patiently, another train, 2A82 has entered the sim at Norton Junction, overwrote the TD description for 6V70 and stopped in rear of that train, showing on the Train List as "Ready to depart but 6V70 in front". We therefore have two trains in the same section of non-permissive line.

I believe this to be a bug.

Not sure if that's the same type of thing we get in real life between Lewes and our panel 5 at Three Bridges, where the train describes aren't quite compatible. The Lewes TD will interpose a new train ID into our 1st berth whether it's occupied or not. Then leaves a duplicate ID in Lewes's last sent which then gets picked up by the next train. Can get confusing at times until the rogue ID gets man stepped forward and then deleted. But the signalling itself always works correctly as intended ie no two trains in the same section.

Darren,

If it was just the train description I would agree, however the train list readout suggests that there are two trains in the same section, otherwise the second train would be shown as "Waiting at Red Signal NJxx".

I recall also having had trains enter at the junction in succession and the second one being reported in F2 as stopped behind the first rather than stopped at a signal.

If you can get two trains in the same section then that sounds to me that the entry point data is missing a subroute or two....

Just come across this bug myself. Is there any point in reporting it at the moment?
