This timetable, written by myself and Ben Woodward (Sacro), as used at the meet in London in March 2012, has now been uploaded. This will chain to the Kings Cross and Peterborough timetables of the same date. Please report any bugs or queries in this thread (or by email to mccormick.d.s _obvious symbol_ gmail.com). The timetable is a reasonably accurate representation of the service on Thursday 15th October 2009. Passenger train descriptions include a descriptor like (FCC 8/365) to indicate the train company, number of carriages, and class of train which operates the service. Freight train descriptions have a similar descriptor, which also includes the length of the train. Watch out for 3J31-3J36 - this is a water-jet railhead treatment train; it will run around the sims all day so delay it at your peril! With many thanks to Noel Young for much invaluable information (without which this timetable wouldn't be half as good), and to many others for extensive testing. Not sure if this is right or whether it should go in the Cambridge forum, however I am playing this and have a problem with train sk51-s which is due to reverse at whittlesford north, I cant find the correct routing for the train every route I have tried the train phones and says wrong root. Can someone explain the error of my ways. Thanks Ben Log in to reply |

Because this train is a "seed service" and appears at the start of the timetable at the closest point in it's normal timetable. In this case it enters at Whittlesford Sidings which is a goods siding and passenger trains should not normally run here. When the driver calls up there should be an option "Accept train onto goods line" or something like that. This should sort you out.

Tried the timetable but there were a number of delays to the seeded trains due to the scheduling. There was also 2-3 embedded delays. I have revised the timetable to eliminate the scheduling delays as well as the issue of 2K51 incurring a three minute penalty for travelling over a goods line. Putting that aside it,s a busy but nice timetable which has had a lot of work put into it. I actually work at March East Junction so the Cambridge Sim is of great interest to me. Here are the details. Sim now starts at 04.35 to allow 6L18 to enter at the same time. 4E58 enters at O440, Ely North Jn 04.45 to 0452. 4E58 may have an embedded delay departing ELy N.J. 3J31 Enters at 04.37, Foxton 04.40 to 04.44 to reduce conflict with 5C90. 5C90 retimed throughout. Enters Royston Sidings at 04.40, Royston 04.42 Shepreth Branch Jn 04.56, Cambridge (GL) 05.00, Camb Carriage Sidings (ARR) 00.00 Coldham Lane TMD 05.15 (Includes a generous pathing allowance through the Carriage Sidings) A new train 5K51 enters Whittlesford Sidings at 04.38 to Whittlesford North(Reverse) which forms 2K51. 2K51 Departs Whittlesford North at 04.45, Audley End 05.55,04.56, Stansted North Jn 05.06. There appears to be a one minute embedded delay in 3J31 Departing Foxton, 2 minute embedded delay in 5H03 Departing Camb South (CA147DSL) which I compensted for by bringing forward the departure time by 2 minutes. This should eliminate delay to 5H05 which makes the same move. 4E58 I mentioned but not confirmed. I have only gone up to about 05.05 so far. IMPORTANT. 6L18 must be regulated at Cambridge North and should not have the signal cleared for the TL Line until after the passage of 5H05 and a couple of other ECS,S to the platforms at about this time. I didn,t make a note of the headcodes but one is 5K** which goes to P1 and 5K** which goes to P5. The Cambridge Panel certainly keeps you on your toes, lol. Incidently Cambridge Signalling Centre is operated by four Panel Operators. Peterborough only has two suprisingly. I hope I have been of some help. This timetable starts at 0445 to enable it to chain with other simulations. If you have noticed, many simulations now have at 0445 Thursday 15th October 2009 TT, and changing Cambridge to 0435 means that this will no longer chain.

Thats a good point. So the train schedules need to be changed to allow a 04.45 Start time without incurring unneccessary delay.

I have found no problem so far with the TT. 6L18, if on time goes into the Up Goods at Cambridge (no mention of TL in TT) to wait for its path to Harlow Mill. I noticed that with 6LI8. I don,t know where I got TL from. I also agree with your comment regarding 5/2K51 to avoid the penalty. As for not having to change anything else to avoid delay I must disagree. I made quite a few changes to the timings, in most but not all cases to avoid a delay penalty. 5C90 for example is held outside Foxton waiting for 3J31 to depart. I had to adjust the times for 5C90 in the Cambridge area to compensate. This include pathing through Cambridge to avoid the ECS Movements. I did run it earlier and incurred 3 delays all embedded although one was 4E58 departing ENJ 1 minute late when I brought it forward from 05.00 to 04.56 departure which gave it a 3 minute stop at ENJ. Perhaps changing it back will eliminate it? The others were 2 minutes to 5H03 daparting Camb South and 1 minute to 3J31 departing Camb. I am not sugesting they were embedded in the original timetable I may have done it by accident when I was working on it. 5H01 is due to arrive Camb at 04.47 and depart at 04.48 as 2H01. It does work although a little tight in my opinion so I amended it to arrive at 04.48 and depart at 04.50 to build a little slack into it. This had an interesting knock on effect to the ECS trains coming out of the sidings although it did not cause any delay. I may leave it as it is, change the departure time to 04.49 or even revert to the original. I think this timetable would be good for MP. Perhaps the author could run a multiplayer session sometime?

Go into the TT whenever a train enters early or late and reset the delay box on the front tab of the train's TT to 0 then save the TT. That will remove the embedded delay if convdata is not working.

You are only penalised if you delay a class 1 or 2 train. Why worry about penalties? Just run the trains and enjoy the sim. Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Last edited: 10/09/2012 at 19:20 by BarryM Log in to reply The following user said thank you: guidomcc |

Sorry for bumping an old topic... Playing through this timetable today, 4M84 and 6M87 are both timed to use Ely Up goods loop at the same time. Log in to reply |
