I see that all of my posts are still showing a GMT time of posting although we are now in BST. My profile is showing my Time Zone as GMT + 0:00 and my local time is correct to GMT. Is the Forum keeping to GMT, or should it be reset to BST?

You can alter it by changing your personal time zone to UTC+1 in the "Your Details" page at the bottom left.

Thanks - didn't spot that and couldn't find any way to change things by going into my Profile. That does retrospectively change the time stamp for previous postings made while we were observing GMT which could cause problems if anyone ever tries to use the Forum for an audit trail (if that were ever to happen!).

Previously covered here and also here. Although, thanks for starting this thread as it has reminded me to make the necessary change so that posts show the right time, etc.

I knew I'd seen it somewhere (but didn't realise I'd seen it twice!).

I've been wondering why the recent topics section on the left started showing BST rather than the usual GMT. So you have Daylight Savings in Britain as well I presume. I also presume BST stands for British Standard Time?

BST = British Summer Time. Daylight Saving Time seems to me a strange term as the number of hours of daylight is a natural phenomenon not dependant on what the clock says.

I think the clock is still a bit confused. I made a posting to "TOPIC: The board is now OPEN - please read" at 00:24 BST today (02/06/12). It is now 01:06 BST 02/06/12 and that posting is tagged as "Yesterday 00:24".

If you click on the 'Your Details' link on the left there is a drop-down box at the bottom of that page which should allow you to change your time zone - for me it shows as
http://www.SimSig.co.uk/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=18&id=1217&Itemid=145#8996

"(UTC +01:00) Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris".

Works for me, times match up to 'real time'.

Time is not the point, date is. The posting showed the correct time, it is just that at some point between 00:24 BST and 01:06 BST, 02/06/12 the clock decided to show that 00:24 02/06/12 posting as "Yesterday 00:24" although the posting was made "today".

Testing!

Edit: It appears to me that the day problem had been fixed. But further investigation reveals that it has not been fixed. Now showing to me last post Today 00:02 (BST + 9), the previous post Today 23:51 (BST + 9)
