Thanks for the research. As far as the arguably most famous eponymous control is concerned (Welwyn), I guess there is not too much AB around now too apply it to.

He's a knowledgeable bloke!

It certainly had quite a few people scratching their heads - possibly because it's not a name that is necessarily known to those signallers that use it even on a daily basis. The rules for Huddersfield state that what HC does should not be attempted but don't mention that that is what it is called. I can only assume the rule is there for perturbed situations where the interlocking wouldn't be able to prevent it (handsignallers, for example).
