Just came across the F11 incident control panel on the Lime Street sim. Is this panel only set up to work for the individual user or can you set it up so when you make up a timetable it can affect certain trains or cause incidents? Read the Wiki and my understanding is that I do not think it can be used when writing a timetable and is only available to each individual running the sim. If someone who understands it better than me can explain or point me in the right direction as there does not seem much info on the wiki about this panel. Log in to reply |

f11 is available to the user (host only on M/Play) to set up specific events which last for the duration of the game being played only. Developers can pr program a set of events that can be used again and again depending on the selection at launch. On occasions the pre-programmed events can be removed by f11, though there are ways for a developer to prevent some bits being removed. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! So if I run the Lime street sim , any changes on the panel only affect the sim I am playing. It cannot be used to put in pre planned delays etc on a timetable. Depending on the settings when the sim first starts the panel effects the sim. So its a developer tool not a timetable tool. I understand now. Thanks for the help. Log in to reply |

Probably a silly question, but if a host sets a failure using the F11 panel then does it affect everyone or just the host? Dave Log in to reply |

In the Tresim professional simulator I have seen, the equivalent of the Incident Control Panel was used by the Instructor to "taylor" a fault of his choosing for the Signalman to deal with. I have used the SimSig F11 in multiplayer for the same thing. It can also be useful to create a legitimate workaround for a route locked out by a track circuit failure. (see http://www.rgsonline.co.uk/Rule_Book/Rule%20Book%20Modules/T%20-%20Track%20and%20Signalling%20Work/GERT8000-T1A%20Iss%202.pdf Section 6). I was intending to write a Wiki article on the precise method of doing a release of controls, but have not got around to it yet. The other main use I have found for the Incident Control Panel is for bug reporting as you can identify the point and track circuit numbers to give a far easier report for the developers to find than just "track circuit by signal x". If you wanted a specific scenario with the TT, you could pause the game at 00:01, set it all up with F11, save and include the .ssg in the timetable .zip
