Peter, who designed and controls the Forum Legends? Very hard to distinguish. Surely some of the indications could be better.

Isn't Peter a Forum Legend, with over 1,000 posts? Or is that a Legend on the Forum? ::

The Legend shown on the Board Info at the bottom of this and each page. Or does it not show on your configuration.

Oh I see never paid much attention to that; it's just a key to the meaning of the various coloured circles you get beside each topic (I generally look for the Green and that's it). I seem to recall Ken (Tallington) was doing something about them but I've not heard from him for quite some time now that I think of it.

Sorry Peter, just been keeping my head well down after having many arguments with NR senior management for putting another 19 trains a day over my crossing! Some serious Eureka moments!

Please see post 52 on this page link suggestions for Forum Legends (or Topic buttons as we called them) which is still available. The current site legends are far better than some previous versions like the original True Blue template but the ones nroberts and I created were more like signal heads for a SimSig corporate image.

The small logos never got tested to ensure the screen layout would cope with size changes from 16x16 to 32x32 but the large ones should work without any problems (with the right filenames!). They just need storing offline in between version changes as they will get overwritten by updates! The buttons are stored in the components/com_agora/style/My_Neo/img and /small/ directories.

If wanted then this is almost certainly one of those jobs for Geoff when he has nothing else to do - so don't ask when!

Ken

I can't get my head round the current range of colours and what they mean. Could I make a bid for a simpler system, where only threads with new postings are identified by a different colour. Locked threads could still have the padlock icon superimposed and stickies sit at the top of the section anyway. For myself, I get no benefit from the identification that a thread is active (particularly when some of the threads shown as active have had no postings for a number of days or even months). For example the Waterloo TT section is still showing as active despite the last posting being recorded as 28-Oct-10. The additional colour for an "active" thread only serves to clutter up the display (and doesn't make it immediately obvious where there has been a new posting).

I agree with Postal. I find the current system really complicated at times and not all of the different colourings that we have are listed in the. Just one for a new post, eg green, a padlock for locked posts, and maybe instead of yellow for stickied topics, superimpose a pin on it. It would definately help me understand the forum easier
