The website core software (Joomla!) is being migrated tonight, 26th June, somewhere after midnight GMT to before 6am GMT. During that time the forum will be read-only. Please do not attempt to post uploads during this time. Sorry for the inconvenience!

After the new core software is up, the front end will change as the current template is not supported with the latest Joomla. I'll be trying on a few new shades for summer, so don your sunglasses for the glorious Technicolor that this site may go through!

Migration is complete but still needs checking through, and a suitable template found and fixed.

Looking at it now, I don't think I was the Guest. Originally it did not show me as viewing.

Bound to be some niggles here and there,

The Events module is currently gone but the data is still there. Bear with us while we re-create it in the next few days. Those of you signed up for the Tyne & Wear Metro, don't worry, the sign-up order is still preserved.

I presume this is the basic template which needs updating with thinks like the SimSig logo?

Would it be possible for everything above the Main Menu on the left being shifted below the Shout Box?

I suspect the ads will have to stay put, but the rest should be ok to move back to where it used to be.

The whole forum looks like it's scaled to fit the window now (and doesn't look right, as it's in one colour set, and the site in another), and the big Biz Global bit at the top is very offputting.

Had a poke about to see what tweaks I cold make without destroying it. The Banner was not one that was obvious how to change easily (I can change it to another pre-loaded one but not the SimSig one) - though I can change its colour a bit. Shifted the Shoutbox up one level.

Peter, is it possible to make the forum link on the left hand side go straight to the Recent Topics tab rather than the index like it used to?

When you mean you can change the color of the logo a bit, do you mean changing http://www.SimSig.co.uk/templates/bizglobal/images/logo_orange.gif to http://www.SimSig.co.uk/templates/bizglobal/images/logo_red.gif and http://www.SimSig.co.uk/templates/bizglobal/images/topright_orange.jpg to http://www.SimSig.co.uk/templates/bizglobal/images/topright_red.jpg
Yes

As I said before, please be patient. I went to bed at 2am and am up at 7:30am this morning to carry on with the work - though I need to do my day job too. Nothing you see currently is set in stone.

Having just come out of hospital after a triple heart by-pass, my stress levels went sky-high when I say the word 'upgrade'. Having just enjoyed the 'upgrade' by NatWest on banking I was to say the least concerned, not only has the bank cocked up me money but now GM (he who must be obeyed) has gone down the same route. I have to say though Geoff there is a job waiting to you in the bank as the Simsig site is working well whereas the bank is still in a state of flux! Do you want me to forward your CV to them? I think I know the answer....

Hope you're recovering well, Quizman.

The site is now relatively stable in terms of me not fiddling for a while. Any issues, please report in this thread and I'll tackle them as-and-when I can.

Posted 10 minutes ago and it doesn't appear to have reached the forum.

1) Will it be possible to reinstate the Recent Topics box in the left hand column?
2) Click on the User List link (bottom right) and a list comes up with a header (currently) reading "SimSig has 3709 registered users". Search for an individual and their details come up but the header now reads "SimSig has 3735 registered users". Reload the User List and it reverts to 3709.

Just click on the Forum button at the top left, under the logo - no need to look down the menu items. Most of the top level buttons have default actions to alleviate the need of selecting an item underneath for the most common activities.

Shout box refocuses on the top line every 5 or 6 seconds which is a pain if you have scrolled down to read.

Also, under the Options button is a choice to "Hide Session". Not hiding it on my system.

The forum still looks scaled to me - some of the text appears mis-formatted (such as the on the index, the topics with multiple page numbers not fitting inside their boxes (if that makes sense).

Also the logon form in the left hand menu is a long way down!

Just noticed a small problem- the 'Time Zone' list on the 'My Profile' page lists every country on Earth...with the exception of the UK!

Loving the new London Midland livery though!

I think you'll need to post a screenshot.

It is, but the problem is, if I move it up, after you've logged in, that login area now becomes a waste of space until you want to log out.

Probably because it's mostly cities, not countries. London is most of the way down the list.

Great Western apple green, or LNER green perhaps.

I have the logon fields right at the top of the page so no need to scroll down.

I like the new website !!

Just a small issue is that I was able to download a simulation for registered users only while I was logged off from the website.
